MoonShade Cop Handbook
Welcome to the MoonShade Cop force, as a cop your duty is to make sure everyone has a enjoyable experience while keeping the streets safe.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Cops are now required to teach any new players who join the server. If you are not found at least attempting this, you may be punished.
The Current Police Rules are as follows (04/17/2023):
- Cuff/Uncuff and Jailing is at 800+ Crime.
- Cops should punish players by VIP jailing when they Mass RDM, avoid cuffs, exploit, etc.
- Random Deathmatching as a cop will result in an instant demotion. Do not shoot unless shot at (hurt) first.
- As stated above, you may only kill players who HIT you, DO NOT ASSUME a player hits you until you SEE them.
- If you are killed by someone as a cop, you may NOT revenge kill them back after you respawn.
- Inactivity might result as a loss in your cop.
- No asking admins to rank you up. Your promotions automatically progress via the employer.
- Any citizen (VIP or not) is to be shot on sight upon entering locked doors in the Police Department.
- AFKing as a cop for long periods of time is not permitted.
- Do not use any rebel items. (Lockpick, Doorhack, Cuffsaw). Use kickdoor to get inside locked homes with bounties.
- Kickdoor may be used when a player has a bounty (2,500+ crime).
- Do not suicide to give a civilian your weapons.
- Do not switch back and forth to evade jail or being killed.
- Do not favor specific citizens as a cop. Play fair.
- Do not unjail another cops' prisoners without consent from that cop. Who you jail/cuff is also your responsibility.

Power of Your Knife
As a cop, your knife is used to cuff civilians with 800 or more crime. Your knife will do 0 damage and upon hitting a civilian, their HP will be restored to full.
Cuffing Civilians
When someone reaches over 800 crime (score on the scoreboard), you are able to cuff them using your knife. Remember they must have at least 800 crime or else it won't work.
Another tactic used to cuff criminals is to hit them with a High Explosive Grenade, right as you pull your Knife out. Make sure they have at least 800 crime. This method is known as Nade-Cuffing.
You may uncuff them by hitting them again with your knife, this is known as a cuff/uncuff.
Jailing Criminals
Instead of cuff-uncuffing, you probably want to jail that civilian depending on the crime they committed, such as killing other innocent civilians. Follow the steps below to jail a cuffed civilian:
- Cuff the criminal by either hitting them with your knife or holding your knife out and hitting them with a nade explosion
- Press USE (E) on the player twice
OR Press USE (E) ONCE and select [Jail] on the menu indicated below:
- Make sure you do not double-jail the criminal, as that will grant you a penalty
- You may also want to free them, if you want to "jail-unjail", simply go to the menu that appears when you hit E on them, go to the next page, and select [Release].
Combat Rules
If someone kills you and when you respawn, you cannot kill them. This is known as "NLR" (New Life Rule) also known as no revenge killing.
Kickdoor
Cops are unable to use "rebel items" such as lockpicks, doorhacks, or cuffsaws. To be able to get inside locked homes, cops use kickdoor.
Caution: Only use kickdoor when a criminal has a bounty (2,500 or more crime) indicated by a purple tracer.
Follow the steps below to kick down a civilian's door:
Make sure you have $1,000 in your wallet
Aim at your door you want to kick open
Hit the Y (chat) key and type /kickdoor in chat
Enter their home and jail the criminal
Promotion
- Three factors determine how far until you are promoted:
- Cuffs - Amount of times you have cuffed players as cop
- Minutes - Amount of minutes spent as playing cop
- Experience - Received per 1000 crime + 1 from jailing civilians
